Plant Design as Art

Live foliage and silk integrated into interior spaces requires, if done well,

• a knowledgeable background in space relations
• extensive experience with the functional requirements of industry, and
• an understanding of how people develop an awareness of themselves in an environment with and without foliage

Patricia Gordon brings,

• her architectural background and knowledge developed as a student in the College of Architecture at the University of Arizona
• her years as an instructor in the functional design program at Pima Community College

Installation

Lulu Pokinghorn has installed 30-40' specimens with 60" boxes over marble in interiors with 3 stories of stairs. We have selected, acclimated, moved and installed foliage and container materials between New York, Europe, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, Northern and Southern California with ease. Arizona has the most stringent requirements of all. We have also incorporated such unique systems as Swedish Mona Self-watering systems into such environments as the Tucson Convention Center, and other technical watering systems unique to the interior foliage industry.

Maintenence

Lulu Pokinghorn is known for the quality of her service which is our primary focus. Our personnel represent graduate botanists and horticulturists who like having the ability to relate to clients while continuing to gain knowledge each day in a field for which they have a passion. We are dedicated to reliable, knowledgeable staff, who enjoy their jobs AND their clients.

Special Projects

• Silk Botanical Environments can be seen in the permanent installations at the Bank of Tucson and Southern Arizona Community Bank.
• Themed events such as the fundraiser for the new building at the U of A College of Business, Gadabout's 25th Anniversary, United Way Billboard, and various gift markets. We also participate in various Home Tours and Designer Showcases.

Holiday Design and Install

Our awards in this area speak for themselves. We were the first to light the Sahuaros of Tucson as can be seen on the drive up to the Westin La Paloma. At the same time, we ran a mile and a half of Luminarias. Our Barrel Cactus Tree combining 400 cactus, gold lame, and lighting (see awards) is only one part of the displays we were able to create. Our work can now be seen each year as we put the final touches on the Williams Center exterior trees and interior displays.

Flowering -Plant Programs

We provide orchids, and other forms of blooming plants to both our commercial and residential clients in on-going seasonal formats.

Short Term Rentals

We have participated for many years in convention themes, concert stages, and movie sets.
